Well, a great big thank you to Jen Davies who said my Blog deserved to be one of her chosen Blogs of the Year … I feel like I should be standing on stage now cradling an award with a list of thank yous! Debz … get off your perch, girl! Jen also has a writing Blog and I’ve worked with her, she is in fact one of my clients. But I like to think when I work with people, they become more than that and we stay in touch 🙂 Plus I need to know who achieves what and what successes they have! So here’s her Blog here: Jen’s Blog
Okay so this isn’t the Academy Awards but I will thank all of you for following my little Blog and I hope I haven’t bored too many of you for too long! I just think writing can be an isolating experience and therefore I try to reach out to other writers or indeed anyone interested in reading or writing , and animals … and all the other things I go on about! So thanks for all those that have been following 🙂
So what is this award … this is the bit I was asked to paste … bur scroll down to see my nominees for the award!
The information bit …
Do you know a blog that deserves an award?
Do you have special blogs that you love to read?
Which blogs do you bookmark and follow?
Would you like to give them an award this year?
Then the ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award is for you!
The ‘rules’ for this award are simple:
1 Select the blog(s) you think deserve the ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award.
2 Write a blog post and name/tell us about the blog(s) you have chosen – there’s no minimum or maximum number of blogs required – and ‘present’ them with their award.
3 Please include a link back to this page Blog of the Year 2012 Award and include these ‘rules’ in your post (please don’t alter the rules or the badges!)
4 Let the blog(s) you have chosen know that you have given them this award and share the ‘rules’ with them
5 You can now also join The Facebook group – click ‘like’ on this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award Facebook group and then you can share your blog with an even wider audience
6 As a winner of the award – please add a link back to the blog that presented you with the award – and then proudly display the award on your blog and sidebar … and start collecting stars…
Yes – that’s right – there are stars to collect!
Unlike other awards which you can only add to your blog once – this award is different!
When you begin you will receive the ‘1 star’ award – and every time you are given the award by another blog – you can add another star!
There are a total of 6 stars to collect.
Which means that you can check out your favorite blogs – and even if they have already been given the award by someone else – you can still bestow it on them again and help them to reach the maximum 6 stars!
‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award Badges
There are six badges for you to collect – you can either ‘swap’ your badge for the next one each time you are given the award – or even proudly display all six badges if you are lucky enough to be presented with the award six times!

So there you go those are the rules and the name of the game.
The Blogs listed below I have chosen to nominate:
Sarah Dobbs, who was a guest to my blog, novelist, Creative Writing Lecturer etc has a great blog that I’d like to invite you over to take a look at here:
I will be seeing her this week at her Manchester launch when I will be reading from Unthology 3 — she is also a fellow Unthologist
I’d also like to nominate Alison Wells who we’ve published at Bridge House, she’s a prolific writer and I have read her debut that was published last year. She blogs about all things writing as well and it’s well worth a look:
I’d also like to nominate Catherine Green, also a Bridge House Author and prolific writer, she blogs about her novels and also all things spooky as she is a paranormal writer and her posts are great!
And another plug for fellow writer, lecturer in Creative Writing at Salford, business partner at Bridge House, CafeLit and above all … friend, Gill James
And last but not least here’s a writing Blog I have been following for a while and this one I don’t know personally but it has some great tips and tricks:
Blood Red Pencil
That’s it folks! 🙂
Have a great writing day!
Good getting an award in it?!!!
